Association of Christian Home Educators of Ventura County - ACHEV

The Association of Christian Home Educators of Ventura County is a non-profit, non-denominational organization of Christian home schooling families. Our aim is to offer educational and social support for both parents and children. We have purposed that this organization and all its activities and publications will be consistently and forthrightly Christian, to the honor and glory of our Lord God. While membership is open to anyone, board members and officers are required to agree with our Statement of Faith.

ACHEV was begun in 1981 for the purpose of supporting parents and children in their home schooling endeavors. Our growing membership consists of families from Ojai to Westlake Village, with most of our families living in the Ventura, Camarillo and Oxnard areas.

ACHEV families teach their children at home, occasionally coming together for shared classes. ACHEV sponsors regular monthly and annual events for its members including park days, skate days, standardized testing and school pictures as well as numerous field trips.

Membership in ACHEV is based upon receipt of a signed membership application and payment of the annual membership fee. The benefits of membership include access to ACHEV-News, the source for all news and information regarding ACHEV, the opportunity to participate in ACHEV?s organized activities, a membership roster, input into the organization and access to ACHEV?s libraries and other resources.

ACHEV is a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors with officers overseeing daily operations. Volunteers sustain the organization, from organizing one-time events to serving as president.
