HSsegue Online Homeschool Event Organization

Once you have completed the registration process, you can login by clicking the login link at the top right of the Home page. Enter the username and password that you set up during registration.

Once you have logged in you will be taken to your MYsegue page where you can begin to configure your account. Start with uploading a custom image if you want, or choosing one from the gallery of system-provided ones. This image will appear in various places on the site when users view your profile.

The next step is important. Add your family members to your account. Adding family members will allow you to enroll them in the various activities offered by HSsegue's home school education communities.

Click "Manage" and start with your spouse by entering his or her name in the form on the page and selecting N/A for the grade. Then add your kids one at a time.

Congratulations! You have entered your entire family and are ready to move on!

The final configuration step to consider notifications. HSsegue home school organization will notify you about the local homeschooling events or when certain activities occur on the site. For example, when you post something, or respond to a posting, or someone else responds to one of your listings. We have two methods of notification; the first is the Personal Online Messaging System (we call it POMS). This system allows you to communicate directly to other HSsegue home schools’ users, and is also used by HSsegue homeschool event organization to notify you of certain activities.

View your POMS screen by clicking on the "private messages" link in the upper right of your screen. Initially, you will have no messages and the link will read "No new private messages", but when you receive a message from another user, it will look like this. Click the message title to view the whole message and use the Reply box to respond. Over time you can manage messages as they come in from this POMS area, but more on that in a later demo segment on the POM system. The second notification system we use is email and HSsegue can notify you by email about local homeschooling events, when you receive a POM, or when certain activities take place as well. Now click the Settings link at the top of the dashboard and we can configure the notification settings. By default, the notification settings are set to notify you of all activities, but only when you are offline - notice this option is selected on the screen. If you want, you can set it to notify always (even when online) or not notify you at all. You can also turn off notifications of other user's Replies to messages. We strongly advise leaving these settings alone at first and then fine tune them over time as you get comfortable with the way it is working.
